Brody also insisted in trying them on (even though they're 2 years too small for him!) He really wanted to wear this jacket. He even went and got out pants to "match" (match is a relative term. They both have brown in them.)
Anyways, back to the real point of this post....
Did you notice that Barrett is wearing his eye patch in the first picture? Lately he's realized that the eye patch and his glasses make him different. One of the most common phrases he's said lately is, "I want eyes like Bubba!" He says this as he takes off his glasses and hands them to me. I try to explain to him that the glasses will help him have eyes like Bubba...but he doesn't understand. Whenever he looks at me with tears rolling down his face and says, "Eyes like Bubba!"...it breaks my heart to not be able to give him "eyes like Bubba" right now!

Oh Barrett, that is so sad. Bless his heart. I pray God will give him eyes like Brodys.
oh my goodness...where are the kleenex??
I am at work today (MOD) and am crying at my desk. I pray that the Lord will fix Barrett's eyes (naturally or by surgery)... sweet Barrett- we love you no matter what your eyes are like!
One night while talking to the boys, wishing Bryan's teeth were straight and Brady didn't have Torette's Syndrome, they told me it was okay for them to have "defects" because these imperfections had taught them compassion....that when other kids made fun of someone who was a little different, they never participated, instead, they would take up for the underdog....because Barretts eyes are not "like his brothers" right now, maybe he will remember how it is to be a little different from the rest, and maybe he will never make fun of someone because they are different. And Brody will probably do the same. They might just make a huge difference in someone else's life because of this. God works in mysterious ways. (it is still hard as a mom, I know)
