Sweet Peace

Tonight one of my life-long friends, Juli Beth, called and we talked for about an hour. She told me an amazing story about her son (that hopefully she'll post about later). Mike left for the gym while we were on the phone and when I got off the phone I noticed that Brody's light was on in his room (Mike had already turned it off once after we put Brody to bed).

When I went into Brody's room he was laying on his bed staring at the wall. I turned off the light and knelt down by his bed. He said his head hurt, so I told him to close his eyes and I rubbed his head and sang to him. I knelt there singing songs about our amazing God and precious Savior for almost 1/2 an hour. Today was a long, hectic day...and I think it was just what I needed. As I sang I had such sweet communion with our Lord. It was also a sweet time of stillness with my little boy (who is never still). What a great end to my day. Sweet peace.
