Brody was a little disappointed that this park didn't have the traditional playground, but before long he forgot about that and was enjoying exploring nature. Ron found a tree that had termites and was giving the kids a little lesson about the bug.
Most of the time Katelyn, Brody, and Collin were running ahead of us and finding interesting things to pick up carry with them.
Lauren, however, didn't want to leave Barrett's side! She walked beside the stroller the entire time (and most of the time she was looking down at Barrett). She would tickle his feet and do things to make him laugh. She's gonna be a good babysitter!
Brody and Collin found some short sticks that they decided were "dirt hammers". Later Brody told me that it was just his stick that was a "dirt hammer" and that Collin's stick was a shovel. I think that stick is still in the back of our Durango.
We saw lots of spiders and their webs on this walk. At one point we even had a snake cross our path! Yes, it was a little bitty one...but it was still a snake!

Ron has such a way with the kids! They love to listen to him as he teaches them.
