Waking up in CO

Malachi was very excited when he woke up to find us at his house. He was especially excited to see Brody! He'd last seen Brody when Brody was only 8 days old! At that time all Brody did was sleep. Now Brody's ready to play! Malachi didn't waste any time showing Brody where all the toys were. They quickly dumped out a tub of trucks and climbed in together! Mike and Ben were going to leave to camp at the trailhead for Little Bear Mountain around 3:00 today, so Julie and I took the boys on a walk so that the guys could pack their gear. Malachi tried to keep Brody in the red wagon...it didn't last very long.

Julie took us on a walk down a foot path by their house. Julie, Malachi, and their dog (Annie) walk this trail almost daily. Malachi was excited to show us the creek where they stop and throw rocks into the water.
Brody sat in the middle of the path and played with the rocks. He hasn't learned how to throw very far yet.

When Mike and Ben had everything packed for their trip, we headed to the park for a late lunch. The park is right across the street from the Lakeside Motel (owned by Ben's parents).

Ben's mom, Patty, has a couple of kayaks that she let us use to paddle around on the lake. Everyone but Brody took a turn. Ben even went for a swim in the cooooold water when he saw some golf balls on the bottom of the lake. The snow melt river runs thru a golf course a few miles from the lake and washes golf balls into the lake. I think he collected close to 20 golf balls!
After the guys left for Little Bear, Julie and I took the kids to the park. I haven't thought about under doggies in years! I guess I'll have to practice up on them for when Brody's old enough to want to swing really high!
The boys were definitely in need of a bath tonight. I think they both enjoyed having someone to play with in the bathtub! Malachi was very good at sharing his bath toys with Brody. I think they could've played in there for hours!

Brody loves dirt, rocks, and sticks but he also really enjoys his bath time. When I gave him a bath in Buena Vista, he would do a fast crawl from the front of the bathtub to the back, splashing water everywhere! You are right, he would stay in the bathtub until his little toes shriveled up!
