This morning we went to church with Ben and Julie. I called Dad when we got back to the Little's house to see where they were (they made it as far as Trinidad last night). He said they were 8 minutes from Buena Vista! Julie fixed a Mexican fiesta for lunch. She used elk meat for the tacos and it was yummy!
After lunch Ben suggested going hiking around the Old Spanish Mills. We drove out to the Mills and then started hiking down via the river! Below you'll see Mom, Tyler, Mike, Brody (on Mike's back), Malachi, & Ben.
The mosquitoes were really bad down by the water, so I took Brody from Mike and hiked along the trail above the creek with Julie, Dad, & Mom. It allowed me to get pictures of the guys from above.

Brody wanted to get out of the backpack for a little while to climb around on the rocks.
We all hiked thru the river for awhile...and everyone got wet! I think Ben was the only one that went all the way under water...but Dad was close! His shoes were slick and he slipped on one rock getting his phone, camera, and Blackberry wet! He felt sick to his stomach thinking that he'd ruined all of his equipment. I think we were both shocked when (after letting them dry out) they all worked like normal!

Everyone was famished after our long hike thru the river and brush, so on the way back to town Mom ordered pizza. We went to the Lakeside Motel to eat our pizza. Patty (Ben's mom) let Dad, Mom, & Tyler stay in the manager's apartment at the motel for the week of our vacation. It was awesome to have a full kitchen and living room to hang out in rather than just a small hotel room! After dinner we spent some time playing football (with the throwton) across the street at the park. What else to you do on a Sunday? :)

We really enjoyed the hike that first day. Brody and Malachi were so good! And I've never seen such huge pizzas!

Isn't Brody amazingly adorable here??? You and Mike should have another baby. You are such good parents. Brody and Barrett are such amazing little boys. Maybe you'd have a girl to go along with them.
