Brody and Barrett's Spring Break - Monday

Spring Break 2012 arrived and Daddy Steve had big plans for his Grandson Trip this year.  With Ann's help he had the whole week planned out.  Daddy Steve picked up Brody and Barrett Monday morning, leaving Joan and Staci to work on their tax work and Mike going to work like a normal week.  This is a time when Brody and Barrett and Daddy Steve can have some fun!  They started by driving through DFW Airport and stopping at Founders Park to watch the big jets take off and land.

The boys were ready to get started, so while Daddy Steve unpacked their luggage and settled into their room on the 9th floor, Brody and Barrett stood at the window looking at the tennis courts.  "Daddy Steve, how much longer?!?!"

He did not make them wait long.  They headed right down to the tennis courts.  There were already about 20 tennis balls left on the court so they had non-stop action!

Brody and Barrett both would chase after the balls no matter where they went and it seemed they never got tired!

Brody wanted to see what it was like being the line judge, so he climbed up on the judges stand.  Nice view!

The pool was calling to the boys, so they changed into swim suits and spent a couple of hours in the very nice indoor, heated pool and hot tub at the Hilton.  Ann stopped by the window and waved and tried to get the boys attention, but they were having way too much fun to look up.

They continued exploring the hotel and the grounds.  The Hilton DFW Lakes is a great hotel.  It has so much to offer if you want to stay active on vacation!  Next they walked down to the pretty lake behind the hotel.  Barrett and Brody found some mud to play in for a few minutes.

Next, they walked over to Austin Ranch, which is adjacent to the Hilton and is part of the hotel property.  Brody and Barrett enjoyed the rustic playground at Austin Ranch.  Daddy Steve wouldn't let them get too dirty, though since he already had them dressed for dinner at a restaurant.

Dinner on Monday night - they met Tyler, Ann, and Luke at Fuddruckers Hamburgers in Grapevine - just two blocks away from the hotel.

Luke enjoyed the attention he got from everybody during dinner!

As the sun set on their first day of Spring Break, Barrett and Brody decided it was way too early to go to bed!

Brody was quiet for a few minutes...

Barrett realized he missed his nap...

But neither boy were ready to go to sleep yet!  Daddy Steve took them back down to the tennis courts and they played tennis under the lights.  All the other courts were empty.  What fun!

Brody took this picture from the hotel window as the sun was setting on their first day of Spring Break.  The boys did finally close their eyes and we all went to sleep.  Tuesday would be another big day!
