Great Bend Zoo - Wednesday in KS

On Wednesday morning we had a yummy breakfast of biscuits and gravy (thanks to my boys request) and then played at Grammy's house while she ran an errand.  When she got back we headed to Great Bend.  We had lunch first (at McDonald's, of course.  I'm not sure how many times we ate at McDonald's on our KS trip...but it was a lot!) and then we headed to the zoo.  For a free zoo, they had a lot of exhibits to look at!

Beside the lions there was a statue of a lion.  Of course, the boys wanted to climb on it.  Barrett decided to hold on real tight to his brother in case the lion started running fast!

This peacock was freely walking around the zoo grounds.  He ran and hid under a bush when the boys tried to get close to him.  Grammy told us a story about how she used to pull the feathers of a peacock.  I didn't know they ran wild in KS?!
