Bitter Biscuit

Soccer was cancelled again this past Saturday! This is what it looked like outside on Saturday morning. We got 4-6 inches of snow...but it was soooooo wet and heavy. The sun came out and it was melted away by Saturday afternoon. Now we just have a muddy mess...and a destroyed wheat crop for the farmers. The wheat crop looked excellent just a few weeks ago. Now it is laying flat and brown in the fields. Our prayers are with all our farmer friends.
Mike and I decided to give Brody a Bitter Biscuit (they're like a condensed graham cracker) on Saturday. He really wanted to eat with us...so this was a good solution to get him to stop whining. We learned a very important lesson. These should ONLY be eaten in the high chair! He was a mess! After he finished it we had to strip him down and take him straight to the bath. While Mike gave him a bath, I cleaned the exersauser!

We must have worn Brody out on Saturday. He fell asleep nursing before bed and didn't even wake up when Mike took him out of my arms and took him upstairs! Sleeping babies are so hard to let go of!!!

Those biscuits are the worst for making a mess! Brody looks so sweet sleeping - in that picture it is easy to see where he gets his hair!

I remember carrying sleeping baby Staci, Caleb, and Tyler to bed many times. What a joy to be able to have the trust of a little baby such that they just keep on sleeping as you carry them.

Such a wonderful memory. Thank you for bringing it back today!!!

Love,

Dad

We gave you Zweiback (or some such spelling) Toast one time. It had the same result as the biscuit - a bath! Cheerios are much less messy.

Brody was really "Messy", but he looked really happy. Bet he will be wanting more of those biscuits, but why do they call them "Bitter Biscuits"?

Those biscuits should come with a warning! They are like glue. Connor loved them and we gave them to him a lot. Poor Logan...I didn't want to deal with the mess, so I think he only ate 1 or 2. Poor deprived second child. :)

It looked like Brody was really
enjoying that biscuit - he didn't have another care in the world!!
Your mom has a good thought -
when I was growing up, our nursery
lady always gave the kids Cheerios
and it seemed to work well.

Cheerios may be less messy...but without any teeth...he's still gagging and choking on the cheerios. He didn't eat much of the bitter biscuit (a lot fell in his lap)...he mainly sucked on it and gummed it into a soggy mess!

Even messy he is still cute! Cheyenne loved the Gerber Graduates. They just melt in their mouth. Of course now she eats anything she can get he hand on!

I always stripped my kids down to eat those things, and they definitely sat in the high chair. They aren't bitter, is it spelled bitter or biter? They are for biting, right? Just trying to clarify for grandmommy & daddy ken.
