Halloween 2008

Barrett got to wear the pumpkin costume this year. He must have really liked it because he wouldn't stop smiling! It was too cute! Brody the firefighter ready to do his job.
And by job I mean get candy! As if he hadn't already gotten enough candy (at the Fall Festival at church, Wednesday night after Bible class they had the kids go thru the "Boobird" (the bus) and they passed out the candy that was leftover from the festival, and then in preschool they had another fall festival with even more candy!), we took him Trick-or-Treating around Caleb & Audria's neighborhood.

Brody would run up to someone's door, ring the doorbell, say "Trick-or-Treat", and then wait for them to open the door. When they opened the door he'd just stand there silent. Finally he'd open his bag for them to put some candy inside. As soon as he got the candy he'd say, "Thank you! Time to go to the next house! Bye!" Then he'd run back to the street and beg to hold the leash for Bear (Carl & Tricia's dog) while we walked to the next house.

We decided that Halloween is the ultimate Democrat holiday. We teach our kids to go knock on people's doors and demand that they give them candy for no reason than that they look cute! So when we got back to Caleb & Audria's house we had Brody go up and ring the doorbell. When they answered he didn't say "Trick-or-Treat", he said, "Spread the wealth!" lol

Caleb & Audria had all of us over to their house for a fun night. We had TONS of food and lots of laughs. We put the kids to bed in their spare room and then stayed up late watching a scary movie (not my favorite thing to do in the world). Here's Audria and her Mummy on a Stick!

We didn't get home until after midnight and didn't get into bed until after 1 am. Too bad the boys didn't realize we were out that late. They were up at their normal time on Saturday. We tried to convince Brody to just lay in bed with us for a while, but that didn't work. He'd lay there and just whisper, "I want a pop tart!" over and over in our ears! Finally we gave in and got up to feed the hungry boy.
