It's here...Baseball Season!!!

It's that time of year again...fall baseball! I haven't taken my "real" camera out to the field yet...so all I have a is a few pics from my phone and a few pics Jill emailed me.  Don't worry...I'll make sure to take real pics of the boys' games soon (including Brody...I guess it was so hot that I was done taking pics even with my phone by the time his game rolled around!)  Brianna spends most of her time at games being passed around...and then eventually falling asleep.

The Fans...

Brody bats 1.000!!!

Today was the last game of the season for Brody's 7UAA Marlins.  Before we left for the game I told Mike that I had butterflies in my stomach!  We hadn't told Brody how good his batting average was this season because we didn't want him to focus on a number.  A few weeks ago he told me, "You know Momma?  One thing I think I'm doing better at this season is hitting.  I don't remember, but I may not have gotten out at all."

I wanted to jump up and down and say, "You're right!  You're batting 1.000 right now!  That means you've had a hit EVERY at bat!  So don't mess up these last few games...you gotta get a hit every at bat to keep your record going!"  Instead I replied, "I think you are doing better.  Just take it one pitch at a time and make sure you concentrate on making each hit a good one."

Brody was first in the line up this year (meaning he got more at bats during each game).  The last game today was the most nervewracking for me!  Seriously...it's only 7UAA baseball...but I wanted to see the look on his face when Mike told him about his record!  I wanted it for him so bad!  Each time he was at the plate I watched on the edge of my seat as time after time he'd make a solid hit and get on base.

Mike and I high fived after the game....Brody did it!  He had a hit and got on base every single at bat this season!  I think a few buttons popped off Mike's shirt tonight...

I waited with anticipation to see Brody's reaction when Mike gave him the news that he finished the season with 1.000 batting average.  After hearing about how proud we are of him, Brody looked up at Mike and said, "Isn't that what you're supposed to do?  Aren't you supposed to get a hit every at bat?!"

Game Ball Barrett

Tonight Barrett got the game ball after his 5U Marlins game! Mike was in Houston on a business trip...but Coach Dan and Coach Rush posted for a picture with the MVP.
Ava Grace (Coach Dan's youngest) adores Brianna.  She was so excited to see her that she rode all the way out to the field on my stroller like this....

Field of Dreams

Today was Youth Sports League day at the Ballpark at Arlington. After church, we headed to the Ballpark. We arrived at the parking lot just in time to grab a few hotdogs with the boys' baseball team before heading in to the Rangers game. When we got inside the ballpark, we lined up with all the other teams on the concourse...waiting our turn to walk around the field! Yes...the actual field! The field where the Texas Rangers play! Brody and Barrett were beyond excited! Brody told me that the entire time he was walking around the field he imagined what it would be like if he was playing on that field and all the people in the stands were cheering for him. After we walked all the way around the field, we found our way to our seats and enjoyed the game. After the game we went back to the parking lot for (you guessed it) more baseball! The boys hadn't had enough! They convinced the coaches to play some baseball with them in the grassy area by the parking lot. Brianna is a little young to enjoy the baseball game, so she got to go to church with Daddy Steve and Namaw and spend the day with them. A fun day was had by all!

Baseball Buddies

Baseball Sister

Brianna slept bundled up in the carseat/stroller or in someone's arms through the majority of Brody's baseball tournament this weekend.  She was wearing her fan gear though (even if you couldn't see it because of the blankets).  The headband Teri Anderson made her matched perfectly!!

Baseball weather?!?

It may have been cold outside tonight...but that didn't stop our family from coming out to watch Brody's baseball game!  Daddy Steve, Namaw, Caleb, Audria, Axton, & Archer all joined us as freezing fans.
