Christmas Lights

Last night we decided it would be a good night to drive around and look at Christmas lights.  The boys took their blankets to the Jeep so they'd be comfy and then settled in to enjoy the lights while listening to Christmas music.

We drove through a neighborhood a few miles from us that has huge, GORGEOUS homes.  The whole neighborhood was lit up for Christmas.  This house was our favorite.  You can't tell from the picture, but the wreath over the front door was at least 12 feet tall!  It was beautiful!

It was made even more beautiful because of the inside!  You could see a huge stone fireplace through their windows.
After driving leisurly through this beautiful neighborhood, we decided to go to Interlochen in Arlington.  It's legendary for it's Christmas light display.  We drove all the way over to Arlington and then waited over 1.5 hours to even get to the entrance of the Interlochen neighborhood!  We were sorely disappointed when we found out that it was an old, run down neighborhood that had random Christmas lights on houses.  There were so many cars there that it would take HOURS to drive through the neighborhood (at a snails pace), and you're blinded by headlights most of the time and cars going the opposite direction are blocking your view of the lights!  Why is this so legendary?  Why did we spend 3 hours in the car to see something that didn't even compare to the neighborhood just a few miles from our house (that didn't have thousands of people trying to drive through it with us)?

Oh well.  We still had fun together...and we LOVED the light display by our house!  We'll have to drive though that one again this weekend!
