Brody was pretty disappointed when he found out that Brianna's adoption court hearing couldn't be on his birthday.  He asked if he could wait to have his birthday party so he could have a combined party with Bri (celebrating her adoption).  How could I say no?!  We planned a swimming birthday party for the day after Brianna's court date and invited family and a few of Brody's friends.  Here are a few pictures of the party...

Bright Sun

I was complaining to Namaw and Audria today during "cousin pool time" about Brody's raccoon eyes. He wears sunglasses all the time and has such a dark tan that he's starting to look like a raccoon!  Namaw suggested that I get him tinted goggles for the pool and thought that might decrease the white space.  I already had some, so I dug them out of the pool toy bin and gave them to Brody.  We looked at him a few minutes later to see that he had on BOTH the goggles and the sunglasses!  He said that he liked the goggles keeping the water out of his eyes, but they weren't dark enough so he needed the sunglasses too!!  Oh boy.  What have we started?!?

Summer Fun - Swimming with Cousins

 

1st one in the pool!

Brody was the first one to jump in the pool this year! He kept talking about it and talking about it and finally I said, "I'll give you a dollar if you'll jump in and swim to get the football!" It only took him a few minutes of thinking about it and then he was in!

I cracked up when I picked up my phone later and found this video that Brody made.  For some reason it reminds me of Kevin on Home Alone.
