The upstairs is finished!! Mike has been working hard on the upstairs for the past month or so. He finished the entertainment center just in time for me to get to enjoy it for a few days before we left. The wood on the entertainment center is hand hewn to give it the log look. The pictures just don't do it justice!! If we were going to be staying in this house we would buy "real" furniture for this room...but for now a futon and bean bag chair will have to do ;)

Brody loved "helping" Daddy work. I can't tell you how many times we've heard about "Daddy", "wood", and "saw" in the past few days. He's also been telling us about Daddy's "big hammer" and how Daddy "hit the box" (Mike busted up an old piece of furniture to burn in the wood stove in the shop). Tonight we had a video chat with Mike. As soon as Brody saw Mike he said, "Daddy saw wood!" I think Daddy Steve will have to come up with a few projects so that Brody can get his woodworking fix!

Mike is a true craftsman. The work is absolutely beautiful and to think how he has accomplished all of this while working at his job. I am sooo impressed. Oh, and Brody, good job!!!

What a beautiful room. I am sorry you can't spend more time in it too! Sure do miss you around here. Glad you got to take some snow with you though. I would sure hate for you to miss out on that. :-)
